Mr. Stromberg joined Castlegate Capital Advisors in 2013. He has over 25 years of middle market experience, in both private equity and as counsel. His responsibilities at Castlegate include deal generation and evaluation, transaction management, portfolio company oversight and legal affairs for the firm and portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Castlegate, Mr. Stromberg founded Vista Advisors, a consulting firm providing investment capital and advisory services to consumer products companies, primarily in the food and beverage sector. He currently sits on the Boards of Directors of several companies including EcoTensil, which creates the most eco-friendly paperboard based utensils on the market and Gelateria Naia, a manufacturer and distributor of gelato and other frozen confections.

Previously, Mr. Stromberg was a co-founding partner at GESD Capital Partners, a San Francisco based private equity firm focused on acquisitions of lower middle market companies. The firm concentrated on consumer products companies particularly in the food and beverage sector. At he was integrally involved with all aspects of firm activities from investor relations through portfolio company management serving on numerous Boards of Directors including Golden County Foods, Ascentia Wine Estates, Gold Coast Bakeries and Milton’s Fine Foods.

Prior to joining GESD, Mr. Stromberg acted as mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial counsel both in-house and in private practice. He was Assistant General Counsel responsible for all commercial affairs at PG&E Energy Services with more than $600 million in sales. Prior to that he practiced corporate and business law at Coblentz, Patch, Duffy and Bass, a pre-eminent San Francisco law firm as well as at Manwell & Milton, a boutique firm where he acted as captive outside counsel for Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream for five years.

Mr. Stromberg has BA in Political Science and Economics (with honors) from American University and a Juris Doctorate (cum laude) from University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
